New comedy narrative series starts Monday 7th April on Radio 4

'Cafe Culture', Edinburgh's newest coffee shop opens for business this spring on BBC Radio 4 as Hilary Lyon's brand new 6-part comedy narrative series 'Secrets and Lattes', starring Julie Graham, Hilary Lyon, Simon Greenall and Pearl Appleby, hits the airwaves at 11:30am on Monday 7th April.

'Secrets and Lattes' sees erstwhile free spirit Trisha (Julie Graham) return to her native Edinburgh, after years of living in London, to open a café with solvent big sister Clare (Hilary Lyon).  Clare struggles with suburban snobbery and an obsessive need to control but she, too, is in need of a change and happily facilitates the opening of the cafe in leafy Bruntsfield.  It's a whole new era for two very different sisters.  Throw in temperamental opera-loving Polish chef, Krzysztof (Simon Greenall) and a strangely forward teenage customer/helper, Lizzie (Pearl Appleby) and you have the perfect recipe for volatile relationship tension, a lot of laughs and a few secrets for good measure.  Why has Trisha really left London?  What's going on in Clare's supposedly perfect family?  Who, actually, is Krzysztof and what on earth's the story with Lizzie and her acquisitive habit?

Love, heartbreak, parenthood: identity, status and secrecy all feature in our quartet's lives starring alongside, obviously, a helluva lot of caffeine…

Get your fix, starting on Monday 7th April at 11:30am on BBC Radio 4 and on iPlayer
