The Wolves of Gysinge is the last in the Natural history Unit’s mini series of drama docs featuring true stories of man hunting animals. Tonights drama is set in Sweden where a village is beset by ferocious wolf attacks. Two people, Malmberg and Catharina, gradually realise why the attacks are happening. But they are trapped by a guilty secret and cannot speak out. Despite the villagers’ attempts to define themselves, the killings continue until the terrible truth is revealed. This true story is all the more shocking as the victims were children.

The drama was filmed in Poland earlier this year in temperatures of -22C and featured real wolves trained in Romania.
